I did it.
I cooked my first dinner in my new home.
Eating out and even a quick meal is NOTHING like pulling a Rachel Rea 30-minute meal!
I timed myself and did it exactly in 30 minutes - it was great.

Sauteed Green Beans in Garlic and Butter

Garden Salad with fresh chopped Scallions
Bass Ale
What a great dinner.

One thing I always loved about your familey was the sence of humour you all had. Reading this reminded me of the letter your dad wrote when had to be off on his own. He gone on some sort of trip and spent a night in a motel. In the morning he put the coffee on and took his shower, but when he got out and went to poor himself a cup, all he had was hot water. He'd forgotten to put any coffee in!
Your mom got such a bang out of it, she had to read & re-read that letter to all of us.
I see you have learned from your dad. Opening up a bottle of beer is far less complicated than making coffee. (grin)

I add this to prove there still is a lot of my dad in me...
A couple months back in a hotel, yes, while traveling, I put on some coffee (with the coffee) and hopped in the shower.
I figured it would be ready when I got out.. well - It REALLY helps to put the POT under the spot where the coffee comes out!!!!
What a mess!!!!!
